About Brodie Curtsinger | Visual Journalist
Brodie Curtsinger, 21, is a visual journalist from Mount Washington, Kentucky. He is currently a Western Kentucky University junior majoring in photojournalism and minoring in psychology. He is currently the magazine photo editor for WKU’s student life and culture magazine, the Talisman. For the last 2.5 years of his time spent at WKU though, he was a Talisman magazine and web visuals photographer. Curtsinger has also completed one summer internship: a photojournalism internship with DTID Domino’s, a 22-store Domino’s franchise (2024).
Although, his start in visual journalism dates back to October 2019; it was then that he had a camera shoved into his hands as a staff writer for the Bullitt East High School Livewire newsmagazine and website. Despite being terrified, Curtsinger thought he’d give visual journalism a try. Sure enough, that decision changed his life, because he then made the decision to pursue it as his career on Jan. 11, 2020. Throughout his over five years of being involved in journalism, Curtsinger has told many stories through his multimedia. He is looking forward to the many more stories that he will tell as well as his future growth, as he continues his career in the field.
In Curtsinger’s downtime, he enjoys hanging out with family and friends, trying new foods, drinking coffee, driving to new places and learning about psychology.
